The Mick Schafer Band Relocates to Vancouver, WA — and Joins the 2025 Journey to Memphis Blues Challenge

The Mick Schafer Band is thrilled to announce a new chapter—relocating from Portland, Oregon to vibrant Vancouver, Washington! Known for their soulful fusion of blues, Americana, and rock, the band is embracing fresh energy and new opportunities in this dynamic Pacific Northwest music hub.

With Vancouver’s growing music scene and supportive arts community, the band is excited to deepen their local roots while continuing to perform across the region. Whether it’s intimate local venues or larger regional stages, fans can expect the same heartfelt performances and tight musicianship that have defined The Mick Schafer Band's sound.

But the move isn’t the only exciting update.

The Mick Schafer Band is proud to be competing in the Cascade Blues Association's 2025 Journey to Memphis (J2M) competition! This highly respected event brings together top blues talent from the Pacific Northwest in a friendly battle for a chance to represent the region at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee.

Being part of the J2M competition is an honor for any blues artist—and for Mick Schafer and his bandmates, it’s an opportunity to share their love for the blues on a bigger stage, connect with passionate music fans, and continue growing as artists.

“We’re bringing our heart, our sound, and our story to the Journey to Memphis competition,” says Mick. “And we’re doing it from our new home base in Vancouver—where we’ve already felt so welcomed by the community.”
