June 2022 Wrapup

June was amazing getting ready for the Paramount Music Association Blues Challenge. If you missed my social media posts here are my favorites below.

Jamming at Mick's. Kevin's working on his solo for the Paramount Music Blues Challenge performance.

After 31 weeks we're still Charting on Roadhouse Blues and Boogie Top 40 And we've climbed to number 18 with "Over in the Corner!" Also congratulations to Sugar Roots also from Lightning in a Bottle Records who has made it to number 9 with "Having a Party. "

Mick has always hired great guitar players but now in Duo-land, if there is going to be a guitar solo, he's got to do it. Here's the first published guitar solo of Mick, ever.

he Bash is back for 2022! Washington Heights Neighborhood Association knows how to throw a street party for the whole family. Tents and carts with local goods, food and music! Save the date: August 27th in the afternoon and early evening. Exact times TBA. We are thrilled to be the live band again this year. We had a blast at the Bash last year!

Grateful to my brother Rob for taking me to the Stax Museum of American Soul Music in Memphis. I journeyed back to the original beating heart of soul music.

This photo is from their website, and states "HUMBLE BEGINNINGS

Start your museum tour in the true birthplace of soul music – a modest country church.

Just as Stax’s music found its roots in the sounds of Southern gospel music, the museum opens in a real, circa-1906 Mississippi Delta church that has been carefully reassembled inside of our building."

We're so excited this coming weekend is Paramount Music Association's Blues Challenge... so excited that we're pretending it's already here.

I'm grateful for a place to practice stage patter. Working on what to say to introduce the songs at the Blues Challenge. The set is timed so the stage patter needs to be brief and to the point.

Thank you Paramount Music Association for the wonderful blues challenge event and good luck to Julius Brindim III and Mighty Erica with the Sound Production who won in the solo and band categories.
